Our Reviews

We have been to this restaurant many times in the last year and always can’t wait to return. The staff there is beyond great. Mack served us on this visit and was spectacular. The food here is always incredible! We love this place and recommend it as a must when visiting Highlands!

BEST in Highlands!January 2022

We were greeted right away by our server Holly. She highlighted the specials and took our order. The kitchen was quick in preparing our meals and we were served soon after. The fish was excellent as well as the steak. The portions were large and the atmosphere was friendly. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Great NEW restaurant in Highlands! September 2021

“Delicious food, great music and beautifully designed space and decor. The service was exceptional and don’t forget to try the meatballs or fried cauliflower for starters! Great brunch spot and beautiful photo op outside over the creek beside the restaurant. Best new place in town by a mile!”

Exceptional Service.August 2021
Very nice setting on stream about 3 blocks off Main Street. Good selection of fish, beef, and pasta options. Wife had the trout, loved it. I had short rib, delicious. Both served with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Also had bread plate as appetizer, with some of the best butter I’ve ever had. Finished with gelato. Total about $100. For Highlands this is a mid range place with excellent food. Give it a try. We’ll be back.
Trip Advisor - dadej 5/6/22Great Option in Highlands

We had lunch here recently. We chose it because we had 2 dogs with us – we were seated on the patio – and our lunch was great. The vibe is upscale casual. Excellent bar and wine list – really nice menu with a great variety of selections. Our waitperson was great. The neighborhood is great for window shopping or real shopping.

“We tried for last-minute reservations, and luckily, ended up seated at the bar. Our evening was fantastic, thanks to delicious food and drinks, and the managers and bartender with whom we were fortunate enough to spend the evening!

Scott, Michael, and Anastasia B. were so friendly, fun, and helpful. When I placed my order for the dish I had anticipated for a month (since my last visit), the manager came to the table and regretfully informed me it was sold out. I could tell he didn’t like telling a customer that, and I’m still not sure if he had to run to a neighboring store for ingredients, or promise the chef a sailboat… but the Cauliflower Cous Cous arrived, perfectly fresh and delicious, and I was a happy customer.
Still am.

The cocktail, Teeth, and Consequences were outstanding… very unique and it went down easy.
I think I had 3?
Who’s counting?!

Anyway, it could have been a mediocre night, sitting at the bar and not getting the dish I wanted, but because the ambiance is so pretty, and the staff is so delightful, it ended up being a night to remember! I wish I was a local so I could hang out there often.
Thank you!!”

A seat at the bar and a night to remember!August 2021

“My wife and I had dinner with a friend here tonight. We were all extremely pleased. The place was busy and had a good vibe. Our service was a tad slow but not worthy of complaining. Our food was terrific. We had the bread service and cauliflower as appetizers. Both very good. My wife and I split a wedge salad and we both had the short rib. Excellent. Our friend had the soup and the trout. He said it was very good. Excellent food coupled with wine and beer and we were more than pleased. This place is a great addition to Highlands. We look forward to returning soon.”

Very, Very Good.July 2021

“We’re still doing pickup for our meals these days, and earning a 5 on a take-out meal means the Bridge at Mill Creek is likely REALLY amazing to sit down and eat in the restaurant. I was happy to see such a clean environment with friendly employees (all wearing masks) when I went in to pick up. We made some great choices–buffalo cauliflower, halibut and risotto (catch of the day), roasted vegetable salad, and cauliflower cous-cous. Everything was fresh, tasty, and creative. We look forward to a time when things settle down so we can return to Bridge at Mill Creek and experience the ambience that clearly will match the excellence of our meal!”

Excellent Meal.June 2021

“Great location in downtown Highlands. I’ve been there three times now for lunch. Never disappointed. Food is great and the outdoor seating by a creek is lovely. Very varied menu.”

Great addition to Highlands.June 2020

Absolutely my new favorite restaurant in town.  Amazing food and service.  The owners even stopped by and chatted for awhile.  Pork Tenderloin and Beef Filet were amazing. Mac & Cheese side was perfect. Brussels were AMAZING!  Bang for the buck in Highlands which is often hard to find.  Nice decor and cool vibe.  Indoor & outdoor seating.

Mill Creek History

If you are standing directly outside on N. 4th Street where Mill Creek flows beneath the overpass and looking towards Satulah Mountain, you would be exactly where both of the pictures below were photographed. Picture 1 in 1880 and Picture 2, in 1912.

The home in each of these pictures stood in the same location where our restaurant, Bridge at Mill Creek, was remodeled & finished in December 2019.

Several homes over the years stood here first, but it is unknown what happened to them. The original homes were on the same level as Mill Creek but after years of flooding out, a culvert was placed to raise the street way above the creek.

During the renovation of this space, several old horseshoes were found, probably belonging to horses like pictured below.
